The Last of Us: Part II

The Last Of Us Part II is one of the top games of 2019 and people are awaiting it with a lot of fervor and patience. The thing to keep in mind about this game is that it takes place around 5 years after the first game. It’s a third person action adventure just like the first game.

We are now 25 years after the outbreak and now Ellie is 19 years old. Things have changed, Joel is now in his mid fifties and they are both trying to survive the struggle and hassle in this challenging world. The game is apparently starting in Jackson but it will move to Seattle for a bit too. Ellie is now fueled with hate, and that will be a major side of the story. She is immune to the infection, and now she has grown up too.

Being a teen in this challenging world is not that simple for Ellie and obviously that comes with its fair share of challenges. At the end of the day The Last Of Us Part II is all about family and emotions, but it’s also about survival.

It seems that we won’t be able to play Joel this time around, at least in the singleplayer. They are trying to put more emphasis on Ellie and her abilities, like stealth and traversal mechanics. On top of that, the enemy AI is a lot more powerful and dynamic. They are communicating with one another, and all those little things really make quite the difference. That really goes to show the true power behind The Last Of Us Part II and that’s certainly something you will like with this game.

There are some additions to the game too. There’s an identification meter that helps you figure out if enemies can see you. They are also adding in an injury gauge that lets you know when you are seriously wounded and you really have to do something. On top of that they also added the ability to pick up bricks and glass bottles to throw them. It’s not an amazing feature, true, but it adds up to the realism of the story and that’s the type of thing most of us will enjoy and appreciate quite a lot.

The game has been around in development for multiple years, and it continues to evolve and expand. A lot of people like the idea of The Last Of Us Part II mainly because the developers assured they just create a sequel because there’s more story to tell. And since the game was a cult when it comes to the first in the series, this second one might be just as good.

Even if there’s not a lot of story around about this game, it’s safe to say a lot of people are excited and for a very good reason. The idea behind this title is very cool, there are some creative and fun mechanics at play, and the developers are coming off from the success of Uncharted 4. All of these are signs that The Last Of Us Part II might very well be the ultimate game for PS4 when it comes out late 2019.
