Death Stranding is one of those games that can be really hard to explain as you try to play it. The main idea here is that you have an action game experience with horror elements, and there are some multiplayer functions included here as well.
The main idea is that you have a connection between life and death. The main character named Sam dies and you are sent to another world, one that’s upside down and submerged in water. When you come back to the regular world, he will cause explosions and other attacks that will be permanent, which is extremely problematic as you can imagine. The developers also added a Timefall element, a type of rain that will deteriorate or even age whomever it hits. That’s a pretty new concept and you will be quite interested in the process and how everything comes together in a creative manner.
You will also be able to interact with the environment, go outside of your body and even recover items if you die. You will notice that people have created walls and they are known to live in Isolation. Your primary focus in this game is to reconnect the isolated cities. The society is fragmented, so reconnecting the cities is a must if you want it all to come back. Everything in the game is bound with the idea of connectivity or strand, hence the name of the game.
As you play you will try to reconnect the society, and in doing that you will connect with players all over the world. The game might be seen as a singleplayer experience, but having the idea of connecting with others and trying to push the boundaries and adapt to the process is what really matters here. So you do have a multiplayer element and a sense of connectivity embedded in there, which is quite an interesting idea for the game.
What you will notice is that most players are confused when it comes to what Death Stranding really is. Hideo Kojima is known for creating games that are very complex, with a very creative story and sometimes very strange as well. This game is certainly like that, it’s different but also unique and fun in its own right. It totally delivers the tremendous attention to detail you need while also being as creative as possible and taking chances where necessary. That alone is what you expect.
Death Stranding comes later this year and it’s certainly one of the most anticipated games for the PS4. While not a lot is known about the game’s story and gameplay, it comes from a great and very creative developer. The gameplay we saw is amazing and it continues to shine with its extraordinary ideas. This is the kind of game that strives to push the boundaries and come up with some nifty, fun elements that you will enjoy and appreciate all the time. Overall, it’s an interesting game that you should totally try if possible as it’s really good.
