Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a new entry in the Star Wars series and one designed to bring in some very interesting and creative game mechanics. It’s a singleplayer action adventure game and here you play the role of a padawan named Cal Kestis. He has escaped the clone order 66 and now he is trying to be on the run from the empire. He tried to salvage a destroyer, but during one of the attacks he ends up using the Force and showing off his power.
Obviously that’s a red flag for the imperials who are actively trying to keep all the force users under control. That’s why the Empire is now dispatching the Second Sister who was trained by Darth Vader with the idea to hunt down the Padawan and eradicate all the remaining jedi. This is a very interesting premise and the game will be cannon in the Star Wars universe too. That has many implications, but considering the fact that this is in the past does make it easier to include this type of title in there.
The game does include some popular characters like Saw Gerrera too, and you will browse various popular worlds like Kashyyyk. You will also enjoy browsing some new worlds too, and that on its own is a very interesting idea to enjoy.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order does rely on platforming, wall running and mobility in general. There are numerous force attacks and all of these really push the boundaries when it comes to quality and a great experience as a whole. The title is designed with the idea of telling a new story but at the same time it’s one of the few singleplayer games in the Star Wars universe for a very long time.
Aside from the main story points we saw above, we don’t really know important details like what force attacks we can use, how long the game is and so on. What we do know, or at least it was mentioned, is that the game is a purely singleplayer experience. There will be no multiplayer, which is fine because there’s Battlefront 2 there if you want some multiplayer Star Wars gameplay.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s focus on mobility and a very solid gameplay is the type of thing that really matters here. They do a very good job at keeping your focus on those very important aspects like battling the enemies, staying out of sight and using a clever way to tackle enemies when you encounter them. It’s fun and creative, and it brings you a whole lot of interesting ideas without rushing too much.
It’s a miracle that we finally have a singleplayer Star Wars experience, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order seems like a very good game. That being said, you can’t customize the character and we don’t know the length of the game at the time of this writing. But it all adds up to bring in some nice Star Wars gameplay, and that’s a very exciting piece of news for any fan of the universe!
